TYPOMANCY - LEAD, INK & MAGIC

"Typomancy - Lead, Ink & Magic" is a tabletop roleplaying game in which players play as Typomancers, wizards who draw their power from old lead types, used centuries ago to print books of magic. Unlike traditional magic-users, the characters do not cast predefined spells but compose those themselves on the fly, from the characters, syllables and words in their posession.

The world of Typomancy stands in the middle of a paradigm shift, barely out of medieval times, slowly inching into the industrial age as the last remnants of Magic die out. Inspiration is drawn from folklore and old books, with themes of irresponsible use of power and death of a golden age.

The rules were designed to be light & simple, priorizing roleplay. No (or very few) dice throws, no numbered abilities... The focus is on the world, the story... And Magic!

THE BOOKLET

Typomancy has been in the making for a little over a year, at this point. Next step will be to find a publisher for the full core book... But in the meanwhile Typomancy wouldn't be played, and an RPG that no one plays is good as dead!

So in this spirit I decided on making available this little booklet, which contains everything that's absolutely necessary to play and understand Typomancy. The actual core book will, of course, contain a lot of additional stuff (lore, rules, stories, additional ways to use magic), but everything that's needed (and a little bit more!) is in there, ready to be played!

The best part ? This is pay-what-you-want! No need to ruin yourself if you're poor, I get it, just write "0" and download this book :)
